Quick report
Wind and blowing snow on the st Regis basin ridge. Lots of snow transport mostly from East to west. I dug a pit on an east/south east aspect on the ridge behind chair 5 at lookout. Elev. 6427. Pit test- 1pm 140 cm total 15 cm new loose low density snow Ect 17 failure at 105cm up seems to be of greatest concern. Failure was between a hard rain crust with with 2cm of loose granular snow below. Q2. Also on a final pull test with the shovel a thick slab slid forward on A very clean break at 75cm up. Seems low likelihood high consequence. I skied a low angle ridge into the basin on some of the best snow of the season.
