Quick report

No other instability other than a surface wind kissed layer that was very thin.

Avalanche

Saw a big avalanche a couple drainages west of the Copper River/Tiekel River Confluence. It looked like it had occurred in the last 24 hours. It was on a west fest and appeared to be a persistent slab. The crown was an estimated 3'-6' deep and 1000-1500' wide and ran into the valley floor and back up the other side of the valley, about 2500'-3000' vertical feet. The crown was just under ridge line on a large planar open face.
