About a foot+ of new snow we were traveling over. (Note: we were traveling around 8pm) Weather was partly cloudy No proper snowpack test was done but from observed quick and dirty snow pit done the next day there was an observed new persistent weak layer from the previous weeks without new snow. It was about 2 feet down from the fresh snow. Down about another foot there is a thick layer of facetted snow. We were traveling quite aggressively over the terrain knowing the problems for that day were windslab near and above tree line and persistent slab below and near tree line. We traveled on terrain much steeper after and saw and heard no more signs of instability.
