The morning was stormy. Snowfall was off and on, but heavy at times.
Snowpack
By noon today the snow still wasn't deep enough for me to feel comfortable leaving the road or trails (1st picture). At lakeside elevations and above I found 6-7 in. (17 cm.) of new storm snow sitting on top of 2 inches of crusty older snow. On some steep sheltered slopes next to the road, there were SMALL pockets of cohesive Wind Slab forming (2nd picture).
