Quick report
9cm of new snow fell overnight. Morning was mostly sunny until 10am and mostly cloudy after 10am. A shovel test resulted in ST-E. CT-3, Q2@ 20cm down and CT-17, Q1 @52cm down were also recorded.
Avalanche
Toured Hayrick Butte 20240325 and again midday 20240326. Route started from Ray Benson Snow Park to an East NE aspect. On 20240326 at 13:00 we observed multiple (new) loose wet, naturally triggered avalanches starting just below the ridge line at the base of rock faces around 5,100'. Slope at start is estimated >35°. and running out until slopes we under ~30°. All were R1/D1-D2 consisting and many <15cm roller balls with a few greater than 75cm. There had been approximately 9cm of new wet snow overnight.
