Quick report
Observed obvious signs of shifting NE wind affect on snow surfaces (saltation and rippled surfaces) on easterly aspects. Plenty of snow available for transport after yesterdays low density snow. Did not experience much slab development, but would expect to find the distribution of wind slabs on specific-isolated terrain limited to primarily the upper elevations. New snow was bonding well and lacked enough slab quality for unstable hand shear test even on wind affected terrain (did not travel into any wind loaded areas). Diurnal near-surface faceting observedon on the surface in sheltered terrain after clear skies last night. It'll be worth tracking the snow surfaces during this weeks high pressure for the next snow storm and concerns with new snow instability. Continued clear skies all day. Light-moderate NE wind. Slight and very breakable melt freeze crust observed at dusk on southerly aspects sheltered from the wind.
Snowpack
GTNP-Wimpy's: Probed for total snow depths and persistent weak layer depth (buried 12/8). Noticeable difference in snow depths of east vs south aspects.
