Two Ocean Mountain

Snow surfaces vary dramatically on Togwotee. Surface hoar is abundant in sheltered areas.  Faceting in the top 25cms on shady aspects has made for good skiing in sheltered, shady areas. Exposed areas are a mix of windboard and sastrugi. Sunny slopes have breakable crust.

There are snowmobile tracks just about everywhere, including a couple up the east face of Two Ocean, along the north ridge, and in most places on the north side. Some impressive riding. No avalanches were observed on Two Ocean or anywhere along the drive.

Dug at 10k feet on an east aspect: HS 64 inches (162cm)

ECTN22 down 16 inches (40 cm) on a thin crust, possibly an old snowmobile track. No faceting on this crust that I saw. 

ECTX isolated to the ground. Moist 2-3mm rounding facets in the bottom 12-15 inches.

PST 40/120 END down 47 inches (120cm) at the top of the basal facet layer.

No signs of instability.
