Quick report

Today we dug three snow pits in the Bear Trap Canyon area. 1. Bear Trap Aspens, 9100 ft, West. 26 degrees No concerning instabilities noticed from pit tests. Christmas eve crust buried about 90 cm. and appeared to be surrounded by rounding facets and basal facets are locked up and of no concern.

2. West ridge of West Willow Ridgeline, 9500 ft, NW 30 degrees No concerning instabilities noticed from pit tests.

3. Southern end of West Willow Ridge Line, 9600 ft, NE 33 degrees No concerning instabilities noticed from pit tests. N/O interface showed some level of remaining surface hoar but was minimally reactive.

Today we also observed steeper solar that retained heat that will set up with crusts overnight.
