Attempted to ski the left ridgeline but on the third turn heard a whumff which remotely triggered the avalanche in the main bowl about 100 feet below the skier. Skier was able to stop safely and retreat. It was difficult to inspect the crown and bed surface due to hang fire but the crown extended across most of the bowl and travelled about 700 vertical feet.
