Quick report
Winds were ripping today (no surprise to anyone). Notable flagging off every peak and ridge which still actually holds snow. Trees provided wind protection, of course, but even snow surfaces in the trees weren't as good as we hoped. Open areas, including smaller meadows, were certainly wind-affected and skied accordingly. Not bad, but not great. HS was pretty consistently around one meter everywhere I stuck a pole.

We skied up to convexity which looked to hold a thin wind slab. Talked about it beforehand and determined it might rip, but would be shallow and easily escapable. I dropped in first and, sure enough, the slab ripped and propagated across the entirety of the small terrain feature. I saw it fracture all around me and knew it was shallow (as predicted). Easily rode out of the avy path without consequence. Avalanche only traveled around 100' and was slow moving. All said, still relatively surprising considering slope angle and elevation.
