Went touring and pow surfing near Lulu Pass today.
Lots of wind last night. Evidence of wind effect nearly everywhere above tree line. We natural avalanches on the southwest shoulder of Scotch Bonnet, east face of Fisher, and on the east face of Crown Butte.
While touring around, we experienced lots of cracking within the new wind drifted snow on southerly aspects, west through east. We experienced one audible collapse on an obviously wind loaded side of a ridge.
Snowpack
Did an ECT at 9650ft on a NE facing slope, slope angle 21°. HS 85cm. ECTP13 on the interface between this week’s snow, and the old snow.
