Quick report

Just saw that our trusty forecaster was also in the area. Went up into Beehive for a quick lap. On the way up, noticed some wind scour/depositing. Once on the ridge, a quick hand pit revealed a possible wind slap about 50cm deep on the E side of the ridge. We decided to do a full pit and found evidence of slab formation with some instability at a depth of ~50cm (CT16Q2 and ECTN14) While in the pit, we noticed some snow transport over the ridge and on to the area around us. These observations matched the forecasted problem. We decided to not ski the E side of the ridge and instead skied the trees out on the W side. Based on our observations, and reading the forecasters obs very close by, it looks like the windslab problem is isolated and overall stability is good.
