On the way up to Sacagawea Bowl (~8200 ft.), isolated NE-facing concave features experienced windslab cracking 15-20 cm deep. Hand shear tests showed sudden release to these windslabs over a facet layer. The deep windslab pockets were extremely isolated, but saw other cracking with 4-5 cm windslabs a little more widespread. While the bowl itself had lots of medium-sized sastrugi, other areas were largely windscoured, for example the Pencil Couloir was about 75% rock and 25% snow.
