Observation: Mt Nebo Loop Road

Low density snow from 12/3. Sitting on zero-6" of old weak snow. New depths range from 10"-30". The snotel site read 9" new at 8050'. Average was closer to 18" new snow. This new snow doesn't need much wind to move it. The drifts were dense but not hard and some of the exposed ridges were bare. Found a few small point releases on steep, sheltered, terrain in areas where the new snow was only 8" For snowmobiles I would say, "stay on the road." Anywhere else, you're just riding on the trees and rocks that are so nicely covered.
