Quick report
No signs of instability were noted during travels to the top of Peak 9130. New snow totals at 9000' averaged 12 - 14" on easterly aspects. On southerly aspects, a similar amount of snow was noted with sun crust underneath. At ridgetop, there was no evidence of wind transport or loading. The new snow was also resistant to sluffing, even when tested on a steeper slope (~35º). The weather started cold and sunny at 9 am but transitioned to overcast skies around 1 pm. A small impulse of snow started around 1:30 pm then broke and transitioned back to broken skies by 2:30 pm. Overall the new snow provided excellent riding conditions on low-angle terrain and presented itself as a stable snowpack under the current load.
