Quick report
Stable weather and ongoing high pressure and a mandatory Costco trip led us to hunt for accesible soft snow in a tight time window. Previously wind affected surfaces were surprisingly soft and faceted (see photo below). Snow surfaces were best in untouched areas where preciously wind-kissed new snow over facets had over a foot of ski penetration. Previous tracks had anti tracks and were firm. Light variable winds kept temps feeling cool. Sun was strong but snow surfaces stayed dry. We were mostly on N aspects but S appeared the same at mid and upper elevations. We saw numerous small (D1) wet loose point releases on the drive in/out but these appeared old. No new WL activity towards Harp Mountain or S. Facing slopes in S Fork.
