We hiked up from the top of Porcupine chair and were able to start skinning when we popped out of the trees at the bottom of Wedding Bowl. We skied various aspects of Ben Stewart and consistently found 2”-4” of light dry snow on top of a crust. The top layer wasn’t cohesive and winds were light, so we did not see or feel any slabs. However, loose dry snow easily stuffed on any slope steeper than 40 degrees and ran on the old crust. Ski conditions were better than expected, especially on less steep slopes where the crust was less noticeable.
