- Did not encounter whumping or shooting cracks (until avalanche was triggered). Obvious wind loading on the western slope of the bowl. -Approximately 6 inches of new wet snow -Blowing wind 10-15mph -Did not dig a true test pit but walked across small slope to test before sledding. Also dug into slope and did not experience instability.. -This was the only slope that we encountered on our walk and sled. We mistakenly assessed that because it was a small slope with no terrain trap that it would be safe for sledding. -This was the only avalanche terrain slope that we encountered and it was apparently unstable.

A sledder triggered a small slab avalanche on the north west side of blueberry hill from Glen Alps parking lot in the small bowl where the rail and jumps are usually set up. The avalanche had a crown approximately 3 feet deep and 30 feet across. No one was caught as the sledder outran the avalanche. There was significant wind loading on the west aspect of the slope and approximately 6 inches of new snow. Wind speed was 10-15mph with gusts to 20mph.
