- <p>There was some natural sluffing going on in the steepest terrain. And we triggered a few sluffs that traveled fast and far in steep convex terrain. But they didn't pack much of a punch and were very manageable. Even the sluff debris was low density and skied well. It seemed like the biggest threat today was possibly getting hit by a sluff while in a terrain trap, otherwise it was quite benign, even on steep terrain.</p>
Snowpack
Based on faint outlines of old skin tracks from Saturday, I estimate about 14" of new snow overnight into Sunday morning with another 2-4" during the day Sunday. Total settled (not very settled) new snow in the past 24-36 hours seemed to be around 2 feet of very low density snow with little or no density inversions due to wind or periods of heavily rimed snow. We found the same exceptional snow being widely reported.
