Poor Snowpack Structure
Red Flags Comment

Did not observe any new avalanches, or cracking/collapsing, probably due to limited travel today. Dug a pit at 9,500' NW aspect, HS 95-100cm, observed poor structure and full propagation down 40cm below the Friday/Sat storm, buried 20201211 FCsf, ECTP6, CTM12SP, just barely a 4f slab above the FCsf. I am happy to see small grain FC in our snowpack, >1.5-2mm. Gives me hope that we could heal this problem with the right weather patterns.

Snowpack

Instability Comment

Found enough of a slab even in protected terrain @ 9,500' NW. ECTP6 down 40cm in HS 100cm snowpack.

Steep terrain will produce lose dry sluffing.

Very light density fluff continues to fall... Appeared that the new snow was only about 4".
