<p>Ski tour up to the ridge line above the main couloir on blue bird, but chilly day. 2-3 cm hoar frost in valley bottom. Incredible 30-40 cm of powder above ~1300-1400 m. Lower out-track was "dust on crust", but altogether quite good conditions for Sugarbowl. Some small failures on steeper slopes, but the failures were all low-density new snow and had very minimal propagation. In short, amazing day at Sugarbowl!
