Grey Jay Hankin Day
AvCan Northwest , Thursday 6th April, 2023 7:10AM
Today we went to Hankin. The day was cloudy and it was snowing lightly with light winds. Temperatures were below zero all the way down to the parking lot at 900m. We didn’t see any new avalanches or find evidence of any wind slab formation. There is 5 to 15 cm of new snow over firm older surfaces. North facing slopes (shady slopes) still have the best skiing and riding quality, but the treeline skiing isn’t half bad with the dust on supportive crust. No photos today but you can check out our Instagram @avcan_northwest to see our smiling faces!
Snow conditions were: Crusty, Powder. Weather conditions were: Cloudy, Warm. We rode: Mellow slopes, Open trees, Steep slopes, Sunny slopes. Riding quality was ok.
