Windy Trapper Mountain

Northwest Coastal

AvCan Northwest , Friday 1st March, 2024 9:20PM

It was a windy day up on Trapper Mountain with poor visibility. The wind was gusting to strong and moving snow around, building drifts, loading slopes and in some areas scouring down to the old crust. We observed a few older avalanches up to size 1. In snowpack testing we had sudden planar results down 55 cm on facets over the melt freeze crust. We stuck to lower angle slopes and avoided overhead hazard.
