<p>Summited Atlin mountain via the NE ridge. East, Northeast, and Northwest aspects 1600m and above were wind loaded with more than 50cm pencil hard snow and ongoing wind transport from strong southerly winds. Resistant planar results on 2 interfaces within the upper 50 of this hard snow. A size 2 greater than 72 hrs old had released from the base of East facing cliffs at 1830m in the mid mountain bowl. The bed surface was just above ground with many rocks showing. The depth and location suggests a persistent slab. Unfortunately I did not get a photo. The upper mountain was scoured with small areas of wind deposited snow. Ridgetop near the summit was very rimed and faceted. Scattered cloud throughout the day with mainly sunny conditions, but the sun did not affect the surface snow.
