Spent 3 days in the Cayoosh region. Friday, 20cm of low density powder covered a supportive MfCr on Ottoman, bonded well. Saturday had full ping pong conditions on Lazy Boy. HST 10cm BTL, up to 20cm in the alpine. Pit on an E face, 1950m had a resistant planar down 15cm in the moderate range on soft wind slab. 2, 2-4cm pencil crusts down 30cm & 70cm. Rotting facets above lower crust. No result on CT & ECT. Uneven break with shovel shear from behind. Riding quality variable but overall good. Sunday skied Cayoosh. Storm snow well bonded, no results on hand shears or cutting test slopes. 7 snowshoers beat us up there, interesting route-finding required a new skin track set the entire way. A (somewhat friendly) reminder to not leave a member of your partner in complex avalanche terrain, alone, absolutely bonking & out of sight while they cross the most involved slope all day so you can tag the summit. No results on numerous hand shears ascending the final slope, cornice on lookers L has buckled since early January but still presents a significant hazard. Riding quality on the face & armchair was excellent.
