Big Y Friday
Yukon

Another good day in Whitepass but it's time to keep it mellow. Took the sleds out to Big Y and found 20 25cm of cold smoke up high that likely fell Wednesday evening in the quick pulse of snow that came. Very localized and there was none of that in the feather cleveland area Thursday. That new snow is resting on wind affected surfaces. Similar story on the east side of whitepass with some whoumping.experienced and a size 1 triggered while going down a small slope. Impressive propagation up to 200m.wide and 1m crown depth but ran only 50m due to the very small slope. Worth watching for exposure above and terrain trap as the risk to remote trigger is there right now. The crust facets combo appears to be there up to near ridgetop in that area. All sign of instabilities observed on east and north aspects (nothing on South aspects.
