Dog Leg

Ventured up Glacier Crest to take a peak at the Dog Leg Couloir yesterday.
Weather was Overcast with light to moderate flurries in the morning with periods of clear sky in the afternoon. 0 degrees at the prking lot with calm winds throughout the day.
The first half of the glacier crest trail is a little tricky but very manageable. The low snow coverage forces a steeper skin track in places. Above roughly 1800m it starts to fill in a lot more. Skin pen was 10-40cm with a supportive wind crust down 10cm once in the alpine. Still lots of rock showing on the glacier crest ridge. Couloir looked like it had been skied a few days ago but there was still enough snow to make it enjoyable (the bottom half at least). The exit out below the couloir gives a free base grind which is nice. We were able to ski out the whole way but in spots walking could certainly be justified. Pearly rock area still needs at least one more dump to even be considered.
No avalanche activity noted except for lots of sluffing in the couloir.
Overall a fun day out but a heads up that the couloir needs another reset to be fun again.
