Bruins ridge

Went up Bruins Ridge today with the thought of skiing 8812, but we stuck to the ridge due to strong winds and low vis. We dug a pretty rough pit on the ridge and got moderate results with a collapse on the basal facets with a compression test, but nothing with an ECT (probably due to user error). Snowpack was roughly 90cm deep and mostly rightside-up, except for the 10cm layer of facets at the bottom of the snowpack, which was fairly low density (about 4F on the hand hardness scale).
Snow quality was great up high. Didn't hit any rocks. The ski out down the Hospital Gully was decent for November. It was a busy day up Connaught, with most groups heading to Balu Pass.
