Pump Peak Trees

dalinghaus, Saturday 8th February, 2025 10:38PM

Skinned up to Pump Peak. Followed behind another group and observed them traversing a steep but supported slope. No results there. We skied the ridge between Seymour pk. and Pump pk. Pretty mellow terrain. South-east aspect 1350m. Low coverage uptop. As we got into the run there was more snoe. One of our skiers dropped down onto a small feature and another skier went to follow and triggered a sz. 1 (30cm crown depth by 30m width) above the skier and he was carried about 20m in knee deep snow. Skier was carried but not burried. In this small 100m run multiple pockets triggered as we worked our way down the safest way possible. Everything we touched on this run seemed reactive. As well skinning back up a similar aspect we found most small unsupported features had either shooting cracks or storm slab characteristics.
