Storm mountain fire break

Observed evidence of two slides across the highway from storm mountain fire break. Did not explore further. Ran about half path.

Top half of pack was settling with some cross loading. Bottom half was melt freeze facets and/or facets. Surface was supportive on mellow slopes on (down to about 50cm) but once you cut through the new snow there was a sudden and full collapse (during cutting). We went in knowing we were skiing tracked, mellow slopes (15-20 degrees) but once I dug the pit, we tip toed even more gently. Only did the one lap. Good hike. Not going anywhere steep or with danger above anytime soon.
