Loaded, then Toasted.

We went and checked on the conditions at Crater Lake on Hudson Bay Mountain today. Warm temperatures and sunshine yesterday have created a breakable crust on most slopes (except due north) that extends up into the alpine and makes for difficult riding conditions. We didn’t see any new avalanches. We had strong winds from the southwest, but they weren’t transporting much snow due to the surface crust.
