Toured in the SSV slack - objective was Quartz 2 but we ended up going down the col between 1 and 2 due to lack of viz, strong winds, etc. Quartz 2 did look really good (when we saw it). Lots of wind effect up Quartz 1, building gigantic cornices (at the usual spot). Had mabybe 5-10cm of unconsolidated on top of buried wind slab which was non reactive. Good turns were had but we kept it supported and not too steep given the winds, transport, etc. The cornices off of Quartz 1 shed earlier this week and it was impressive- ran way further than one would expect and some chunks were almost 2m high. Still lots of overhead hazard there - can't recall another season where cornices were that huge. Quite a few slabs observed with step downs from earlier in the week on Goats Eye and N facing Rundle bowls on the drive back were observed.
