Quick Observation
We skied the northeast side of Kirkup. Stayed conservative at the top where it was wind affected. Hugged the treeline across the middle and stopped at the top of the boulder field. There was a size 2 avalanche that had released on the 26th or 27th, either natural or remote triggered. Crown was about 50-100cm (hard to tell because of the distance above us) and was above the slope in the cliff area and ran down the right side of the boulder field to about 2/3rds of the way down. We skied the right side and heard no whumphing nor saw any cracks or anything worrying. The avalanche debris was soft and looked to have run on the crust layer, but couldn't get close enough to know for sure.
