No indicators of instability observed. Test slope stomped out at approx 8000' on a SE aspect light wind crusted convexity of max 32 deg; stable and predictable reaction. Snow pit dug at 7500' on same SE aspect. Noted a thin firm stripe at 30cm and separated cleanly with moderate pressure shovel shear. This same crust confirmed with probing at 30cm, consistent from 6900' up to 8000' developing slightly more definition as altitude increased. Snow below the crust was consistent and held more density than the recent 30cm layer. Very light wind crust present on S/SE aspects with surface rippling present above 7500'. Noted S facing aspect of upper Phat ridge wind scoured. Winds predominantly light S/SE, although noted shift with moderate winds out of N at 8000' by 1300 . Maintained cautious travel seeking lower angle terrain of sub 30 deg today. Ski conditions were good from 6800 up to 8000 with soft snow and minimal wind crust. Overall stability impression: Good for terrain chosen today, moderate stability issues may be present with slab associated with the 30cm layer on steeper slopes on all aspects. Wind slab stability issues likely present at elevation over 7500 and steeper N/NW aspects.
