Quick report
No avalanches, No collapsing, minimal cracking ( less than 1 meter). HN 8" with 4-5" more during day. HS 105-190cm. 22cm ski pen. Winds picked up in pm to Mod with strong gusts S/SW and occasionally swinging around from the NE. S2-3 during day. stellars, needles, graupel 3mm, and rimmed PP 4mm. 22 degrees F. 5-10cm soft wind slab developing on surface in pm. Dug 2 pits on NE/E aspects (60 degrees) on Simmons Ridge; one @7050ft was a shallower HS of 105cm with ECTP 13 down 40cm ( we think on the 1/4/24 layer, 1mm facets on crust). The Second pit @ 7176ft was further up the ridge on a more wind loaded area with a HS of 190. 5 ECTN results within storm snow and no results on the 1/4/24 layer (down 110cm). Assessment mindset today. Kept terrain simple and lower angle. Stability seemed very spatially variable based on depth of snow and isolated features.
