Quick report

Toured up Rubicon peak this morning. Around 7 inches of new snow made traveling from the parking area somewhat easier, though coverage below 8000 feet is still quite poor. A quick hand pit on the way up showed a somewhat clean storm slab as expected. Around 10-12 inches of snow near the summit at 9000 feet made for great ski conditions till around mid slope, where it then quickly deteriorated to the parking area. Chose to ski sub 30 degree terrain to avoid most avalanche issues. Overall stability seemed solid on these mellow slopes. A ski out to the parking area is barely possible with quite a bit of ski damage occurring along the way.
