We avoided slopes over 30 degrees and stayed away from run outs. We felt one collapse in flat terrain and experienced isolated cracking in the upper couple feet of new snow. The new snow is thick with lots of water content. Even though it snowed more than 3 feet at upper elevations our snowmobiles would easily sit on top. Once you gave it some throttle then the track would dig down. Near 4:30 pm we noticed the temps dropping and this started to pull moisture out of the top of the snowpack. It actually created a slight fog as we were riding back to the truck.

We saw three different very large avalanches that looked like they were triggered some time last night. There was a small amount of recent snow on top of the debris. Each avalanche ran almost full path. The slab looked to be 2 to 3 feet deep. All were on N/NE aspects. We were not supprised to see these however the size of the debris and length of the run out is what is note worthy. We also saw the crown of a much more recent avalanche, on a NE aspect that looked to have a somewhat shallow snowpack, it was a large convex roll over in and above heavily treed terrain. We could not see the debris or the track, but guessed it was triggered sometime mid day.
