We toured Jakes from 7-10:30, ascending via the N ridge and descending one lap in the NE gully and one lap in the N trees. On the skin track we triggered a couple test slope failures on wind slabs at ~8300' below treeline. There was minor wind effect elsewhere, with some sastrugi. The skiing was better than expected with ~6" of very light snow on a firm crust.
We triggered test slope failures that broke 2m wide, 4-6 inches deep, and slid ~2m downslope. We noticed a couple of these that occurred slightly upslope of individual trees.
