Quick report
- Cracking
- isolated
Nice day to travel above the valley murk and look around before the next wave of storms move in. Travelled up to 7200ft on W, N, and NW aspects in the cutthroat drainage. Perhaps ~15cm recent accumulation of low density snow throughout on the solstice crust which varied between a zipper to nonexistent. Ski quality was largely unaffected. Sun was warm enough on direct solars to trigger small point releases. Some minor cracking in incohesive/unsupported snow down to the crust observed from stomping on skinner corners nearing a ridgeline col above 7k. Windslab did not appear to be as much of a concern as expected for us.
Avalanche
Small very manageable skier triggered loose avalanches running on a crust (potentially solstice) in steep terrain.
