Snow at the top of the ascent was not fully transitioned to corn, not fully supportable. Observed a large glide crack to climber’s right. Observed a small d1 at climbers right near the top. Combined with the large cornices overhanging the col, we stopped our ascent and skied down. After the first few turns, snow was good corn.
Avalanche
Observed a small d1 release right next to us from some rocks. No one caught.
