Quick report
Traveled on S through E aspects between 4-5k' today. Light breeze, light snow with occasional sun breaks. No wind effect observed in the recent snow. At 5100' E facing aspect there is ~5cm of new dryish snow from overnight sitting above ~20cm of moist snow from the days before. At this elevation the AR crust was boot-supportable. The recent snow seems reasonably well-bonded to the AR crust, but the mid-new-snow interface is not super solid and I can get the top 5cm to shear off with relative ease (ETCN 19 at this interface). With more force (ECT 30+) I could also pull the entire new snowpack off, failing right below the top-most layer of the crust. By noon the new snow was quickly becoming moist and could readily entrain more snow on steep rollovers. Tree bombs were frequent, and rollers were easy to trigger. However I did not observe any natural or human triggered avalanches from today.
