Quick report
Between 5000' and 7300', there were signs of many wet slabs that were very recent. This included almost every large slope angled at 35-45 degrees regardless of aspect. Crowns were typically 8-10" high and I saw at least three that were D2s. There were no signs of avalanches below 5000'. Above 7000' it was so foggy today that I wasn't able to see the steep slopes without leaving the safety of the ridge route. There were big rain channels in the snow at all altitudes. Below the treeline snow was wet and soft. It was patchy at the trailhead but about 3' deep by the treeline at 4200''. From the treeline to 6200' there was 8-10" of soft wet snow over a hard layer and rain channels were far softer than the surrounding snow. Above 6200' the rain channels were icy and hard and surrounding snow was hard. Heavy clouds all day and thick fog at altitudes above 4800-6500' (it varied all day). Light rain between 7 and 8 AM and starting again at 4 PM. Winds to 45 mph at higher altitudes.
