Quick report
Beautiful, clear, calm and cold day in the mountains. Snowpack was overall very stable and we saw no signs of recent avalanches. Surface snow/hoar was sluffing a little on steeps. .5-1 cm surface hoar crystals widespread on all observed aspects
Avalanche
End of day, a snowboarder in our party released a D1 shallow slab avalanche on a ENE aspect at 5800' on the lee side of a ridge. Estimated 40 ft wide, 40 ft in length, 4-6" deep. No obvious signs of recent wind transport but due to the placement of the slab below a high ridge line, suspected wind slab.
