Quick report
Toured from Lost Trail out to State Line yurt. There was around 20cm of new snow in most places, it seemed the new snow had not been wind transported much. Dug a pit on ridge S of yurt(profile attached). Did not perform any stability tests, because when I went to isolate the column there was a log in it, and I didn't want to dig more. I did a quick shovel shear, and the new snow seemed well bonded to the crust underneath. This slope was missing at least one of the early season crusts I have seen on nearby slopes, and the bottom 65cm was rounded facets, with hardness progressing from 4f at the bottom to F just under the first crust. One of the crusts, i believe it was the one at 85cm, but not sure, had a significant number of ice chunks on top of it, that looked like they had blown off of nearby trees. The ground was not frozen, which was consistent with other pits i have dug in the same zone this season. Further down the ridge I saw several slopes that appeared to have avalanche debris under the most recent snow, but on closer investigation I think it was chunks of frozen snow blown off the trees that then rolled down the slope.
