Toured around some of the low and mid elevation backcountry around Marshall and Woody in the Rattlesnake. Moderate to heavy snow fell most of the day. The snowpack in this area is thinner with weak, well developed facets making up most of the bottom half of the snowpack on shaded slopes. The snow above is turning into a slab and I experienced several whumpfs. West winds were light and only blowing in the most exposed areas. There were soft sensitive wind slabs right at ridgeline. The new snow was loose and sluffy below ridgeline. Great skiing!
Avalanche
Triggered some small soft wind slabs on east aspects right along the ridgeline
