Skinned to Wright Mountain / Gem Lake on 2/22. Stormy with high winds. Transported snow in all directions with wind drifts up to 5’ high. Dug a snow pit at 5300’ on SE aspect of Wright Mountain. Slope angle 36 degrees. 15cm to first crust layer, 26cm to 2nd crust layer. Pit did not fail under a compression test. Saw rollerballs on wet heavy snow in afternoon skiing down to Snow Lake. Whumphs were occasionally heard on the lake. Tree bombs coming down from old growth.
