Quick report

We traveled up Source Lake winter route to Source Lake with a high point of 3800’ hoping to see avalanche debris and we’re not disappointed. Travel has become quite difficult again with many new open creeks and few snow bridges available. Observed multiple large debris piles from suspected D2 Wet Slab, Wet Loose and/or Glide avalanches spanning the entire Source Lake Apron. Did not witness active avalanching and suspected activity was from the past few days. Dug a pit at 3800’ on a S aspect above Source Lake. Most notably the 6ish feet of storm snow from the past week has consolidated to just under 3 feet, or 80cm of saturated snow on the 3/8 crust. The weather started much dryer than expected with light or no rain until around noon. Moderate rain around noon increased to heavy rain by 2pm.
