During road clearing for MWObs and NH State Park shift change there was widespread shooting cracks observed throughout the snowpack even on lower angle slopes. A well developed wind slab was easily let loose by light impact of the snow cat blade. Additionally this slab was observed to be situated on at least two faceted weak layers. One layer was located 6-8” below the snow surface while the second was 15-17” below the snow surface. Pictures from P. Hummel - State Park Manager and H. Pearson - MWObs
