This was a late-day, off duty tour to salvage a fumbled day.
We did not observe any cracking or collapsing.Weather
Generally clear to partly cloudy skies over the valleys, with big, dark stormy cloud banks sitting on the mountains. Storms brought brief flurries that accumulated a total of a 2-3cm above 8,000'.
Snowpack
Snow on all slopes that tilt towards the sun and on flat slopes has been taking a gentle cooking in recent days. Steeper slopes that tilt away from the sun are dry, but low angle northerlies (particularly those with burned trees) did some cooking as well.
Avalanche
We did not observe any recent avalanches.
