Quick report

Cracking
isolated

We started the day by doing mitigation on Chute 4 and 5 off of Peak 1 in the Soldier Cat Area. We tossed four 2LB explosives, 2 in each Chute. No cracking or avalanches were observed. We then ski cut Chute 5 with no reactivity observed. During the day we observed a large amount of wind transported snow scouring upper ridgelines, creating small cornices and small wind slabs in our upper slopes. Small shooting cracks were visible when travelling across wind loaded areas. When checking snow depths with my probe I found HUGE variability in small areas due to wind transport (30cm - 300cm). We dug 2 pits in between Peak 1 and Peak at 8300ft. 1 Pit was dug on the N aspect, the other on a E aspect. Both pits showed signs of instability, results are attached in the snow pilots.
